"In a world of chaos, we plant seeds.
We grow together — stronger and united."
The World Tree
In Norse mythology, Yggdrasil is the immense sacred tree — an ash tree — at the center of the cosmos. Its branches extend into the heavens; its three roots reach into the realms of the gods, the frost giants, and the dead. It connects all nine worlds.
Yggdrasil is not just a tree. It is the axis around which all existence turns. The world grows from its roots. Life shelters in its branches.
Yggdrasil is a camp rooted in togetherness. At The Borderland and now at Burning Man 2026, we create a space where strangers become family, where chaos becomes creation, and where seeds planted in dust grow into something beautiful.
Every person who joins becomes a root. Together we hold each other up.
No phones, no distraction. Just the fire, the dust, and the people around you.
From chaos, we make beauty. Art, ritual, shared meals, connection.
You arrive as you are. You leave changed. The tree keeps growing.
Burning Man 2026
This year, Yggdrasil takes root on the playa.
Axis Mundi — the world axis, the cosmic tree, the center pole around which all existence turns.
This is Yggdrasil. Not just a camp name — a calling. The Burning Man 2026 theme is our mythology made real. In a world of chaos, we need roots. We need to plant seeds and grow together, stronger and united.
"Axis Mundi is the center that holds the world together.
Yggdrasil is the tree that holds all worlds together.
We are that center. We are that tree."
Morning ceremonies, fire circles, collective creation. We move together.
Food is love made edible. We cook together, eat together, nourish together.
The dust is our canvas. We bring beauty to the playa — and take it home inside us.
Radical inclusion, radical presence. Come as you are. Leave as family.
Our home burn · Sweden
The Borderland is Scandinavia's regional Burning Man — a week-long experiment in radical community, art, and self-expression in the Swedish wilderness. Each year, thousands come to a field and build a temporary city from nothing.
"This is where Yggdrasil was born. In the Swedish forest, around a fire, with people who became family. The camp grew from roots deep in Nordic soil — and now those roots are ready to stretch across the Atlantic."
From The Borderland's moss and rain to Black Rock City's dust and sun — Yggdrasil carries the same spirit across both. The same fire. The same tree. The same roots.
